President’s Message

A Few Words from Rod’s Corner

In this issue of The Element, we’re placing a particular focus on innovation, which has always been a mark of pride at Saskatchewan Minerals. You’ll see our commitment to innovation in projects such as the railcar adapter we designed with Smoot for a valued customer, in our ongoing relationship with Kramer Caterpillar, and in our environmentally friendly approach to a dike system at Chaplin Lake. We believe that constant innovation allows us to deliver better value to our customers, who are at the core of everything we do.

I’m also pleased to introduce Bruce Olson to you in our employee feature article. Bruce is an excellent example of the close ties between family, work and community in Chaplin. As the main employer in Chaplin, Saskatchewan Minerals is always keenly aware of the role we play and we are extremely fortunate to be able to draw from such a talented and committed pool of fine people. We also try to give back to the community in different ways and whenever we can, as you’ll see in the feature on the hockey burger cook-off.

Finally, it is with great pride that we announce our second straight recognition among Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies. We always knew we had a good thing going, and now it seems the secret is out!
