Annual Harvest

Watch this video to see how the raw material is gathered to satisfy customer demand for salt.

As soon as the ground froze, Saskatchewan Minerals prepared for the annual harvest. The complex process takes nearly 10 weeks of hard work and innovative procedures that include draining reservoirs and using specially equipped excavators and bulldozers to create windrows of salt ready to be further purified in the plant. The result of the annual harvest is an average of 120,000 tonnes of sodium sulphate that will satisfy customer demand for the next year. Watch this video for a more in-depth look at this year’s harvest.
